WHY ADOPTION?
Adoption: a loving journey.  There are different types of child adoption.
1.  Adoption directly by birth parents and
2.  adoption of children who are in foster homes throughout the United States.  The children in foster homes experienced abuse and/or neglect and are placed in foster care. At the present time, there are thousands of children in the United States under the age of eighteen, and that number is increasing every day. Children’s Services agencies obtain permanent custody of these children and then they facilitate the adoptive placements. Our agency helps with both these types of adoptions.

3.  Stepparent adoptions: A stepparent homestudy is needed to complete this type of adoption. We complete the homestudies and also refer you to attorneys who are experienced in this type of adoption.

4.  Kinship Adoptions: This type of adoption is quite similar to a domestic adoption, the difference being that the child is related to the family.  A domestic homestudy is needed to complete this type of adoption.

5. Private Adoptions: When a birthmother identifies a family for her child, it is called a private adoption. This type of adoption can be handled by attorneys as well as agencies.

The adoption process requires all adoption agencies to prepare families for adoption by preparing their homestudy.  All prospective adoptive parents are required to attend training where they learn about different adoption and foster care related topics to help them understand the dynamics of out-of-home placements.  Adoptive parents must complete the home study process. A certified adoption assessor helps complete the homestudy.  A homestudy cannot be completed without the required paperwork.  Please see the section on "homestudy" for more details.
We place children from all the States.  Our assessors will guide you through the adoption process, however, you may want to talk to some of our adoptive parents who have been through this process already.

Talk to other Adoptive Parents
If you would like to talk to some of our families we have worked with, please contact us so we can get you in touch with an adoptive parent who has received our support in the past.  We have some very enthusiastic families who are always happy and willing to talk to other prospective moms and dads.  That may help you receive support and information in a more informal way.  Another way to keep in touch with other families going through the adoption process is to be a part of a support group.

We often bring moms, dads and children together in a group to talk about different topics.  If you have a topic in mind that you would like to discuss in a support group, please bring us your ideas.

If you would like to see us at your office, meeting, club, or organization, give us a call to schedule a meeting.
